Event History

The Kids to Camp Golf Classic has been fundraising and providing scholarship funds to send kids to Y camp since 1988! Every year, the Y provides camp to more than 8,000 kids and gives out over $465,000 in scholarship funds to low-income families to ensure all kids have access to enriching opportunities in the Bay Area. When kids experience Y camp, they know they’re happy, safe, and making friends, but we know they’re getting so much more than that—from science skills to self-confidence, and providing kids with the skills and support they need to be successful in school and life.

About the Tournament

The Course

Join us at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links, Ocean Course. The Ocean Course is perched on a bluff high above the roaring Pacific with sea views delivered at every hole, the course is aptly named and boasts some of the best final four finishing holes in golf. Opened in 1997, and designed by renowned landscape architect Arthur Hills, the golf course in San Francisco’s traditional "links style” design delivers "firm and fast” fairways. The wispy native grasses accenting the tees and the plaintive wail of the bagpipers who play at weekend sundown, join forces to transport players and guests alike back to the game’s origins in Scotland. In 2008, the course was named one of the best courses in California and hosted the LPGA Samsung Golf Championship. Half Moon Bay Golf Links: 2 Miramontes Point Rd, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019.

The Experience

The YMCA of San Francisco’s Kids to Camp Golf Classic is one of the top charity golf tournaments in the Bay Area drawing prominent sponsors and golfers from Bay Area companies. Every golfer receives unique tee prizes, catered lunch on course, complimentary beverages throughout the day and opportunities to bid on exclusive vacation getaways, fine wines, golf outings and cultural experiences in our silent and live auction. Top sponsors and VIP golfers are invited to participate in an exclusive VIP clinic prior to the tournament.

Our Cause

The Y is committed to strengthening the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Proceeds raised at the tournament provide camp scholarships to low-income youth, giving them the opportunity to revel in joys of childhood not only during summer camp, but also during winter and spring camps when schools are not in session. At Y camp, youth experience new challenges, make lifelong friends, and have fun in safe and affirming environments.
