Pilates Trainer
Description
General Function
Under the direction of the Fitness Director, provide direct guidance, instruction and motivation for participants in Pilates Apparatus Training.
Skills and Requirements
Know How
Individual must demonstrate ability to lead participants in the specialized fitness sessions of Pilates Apparatus training. Have the ability to interpret YMCA program philosophies and relate them to participants in a positive manner. Exercises mature judgment and sound decision-making.
Entry Requirements
1. Minimum 18 years of age.
2. Current YMCA approved CPR certification.
3. Approved certification in Pilates large apparatus training.
4. Minimum 6 months experience as instructor in a related area.
5. Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper Pilates techniques.
Essential Functions
1. Plans and leads specialized Pilates program.
2. Communicates regularly with supervisor.
3. Organizes and puts away program supplies.
4. Tracks client sessions and maintains related records.
5. Participates in staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
6. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures. Completes incident reports as necessary.
7. Communicates appropriately with program participants on progress. Provides information to the public and participants on YMCA programs and schedules.
8. Demonstrate the "Character Counts" values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility in all your dealings with members, guests, volunteers and fellow staff.
9. Participate in training and abides by the "New Perspectives" guidelines for the YMCA of San Francisco.
10. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
