Volunteer/Work
Teen Volunteer/Job Opportunities
If you've got the time, we may have the volunteer job/job that's right for you.
Whether it be volunteering at our after school programs, to lending a hand at our annual events, teens are always welcome to be a part of the Chinatown YMCA family.
I-Works
Our afterschool sites need teens like you to work as role models for the kids in our afterschool programs. If you have the heart and the skills to tutor and be that big brother/big sister role model to the lives of Chinatown’s kids, then we’ve got the job for you. An application and interview process is necessary. You will be selected for an interview based on your application. Spaces are limited!
Summer Volunteer
Our Culture Camp, Summer School, Aquatics programs are looking for a few good volunteers. If you are an entering junior or senior in high school or older interested in working with kids this summer, this is the spot. Along with gaining over 200 hours of service hours, you’d work with a fun, caring staff and get first hand training in all aspects of camp counseling.
Counselors in Training
The Counselor in Training is designed to give teens interested in becoming a summer Y camp counselor a chance to learn and develop their skills as a leader. Through this program, participants will learn how to lead games, supervise a group of children grades K-8, and understand the importance of group work. Along with learning the skills needed to lead a group, teens will learn valuable and confidence building life skills such as prioritizing, time management, and organization. All participants will meet at John Yehall Chin Elementary School and will need to bring a bag lunch.
