Experience: I’ve worked in youth development across the country, including the National Council on Drug Addiction in New Mexico and the American Lung Association in Orlando, FL. I’ve worked for the YMCA of San Francisco since 2002, first for Urban Services and now for Shih Yu-Lang Central YMCA.
Hobbies: Playing with my 5 month old daughter (that’s not really a hobby though), photography, travel, reading, hiking, hanging out with friends and family, going to the movies and eating.
Why do you work for the Y? I work for the Y because I believe deeply in the Y’s commitment to community, youth and families. I grew up as a Y kid and I know how much the Y helped my mother, who was raising me on her own. I hope to have that same sort of impact on the countless number of youth and families that walk through our door everyday.

Experience: I have worked as a journalist, hospital chaplain and for the Episcopal Church in youth programs.I have also worked in 4 YMCA associations in the U.S., and 3 branches in the YMCA of San Francisco in after school programs, membership and fitness.
Hobbies: Dancing, Excercise, Movies, Outdoor activities and Social events.
Why do you work for the Y? I grew up as a Y kid. The Y had a profound impact on me and I believe in its mission to impact communities. There is no other non-profit that even comes close to the depth and oppertunities the YMCA offers.

What are you hobbies? I am an amateur chef. Grow food in our family garden plot. I have an active yoga practice. I love being with family friends, going to festivals and getting out into nature.
Why do you work for the Y? I love therapy and have discovered in the past 4 years I have a knack for working therapeutically with adolescents. The Y is a place that actively reaches out to our youth in need offering many types of resources for our youth. The Building Futures Mentoring Program provides a rich opportunity for working with adults and youth, providing an opportunity to expand the “therapeutic container” throughout the community. I work at the Y because here I’ve found a place where people are actively working to make a real difference in the lives of the communities where the Y lives.
