Sports and Fitness

No one sits on the bench here.

We believe that healthy living is necessary for active minds at the YMCA. Our Junior and Teen programs focus heavily on improving students’ grades and helping them with academic problems they might have. But our fitness program is what keeps them energetic and sharp, and we are always playing sports to build good sportsmanship and teamwork – and to have a little fun! Whether it is basketball, dodgeball, volleyball, flag football, tennis or tetherball, all our youth love to get out on the courts and play around with their peers, and no one is ever left out.

In addition, we have a range of smaller classes and fitness activities, like calisthenics and stretching for our juniors and team basketball games against other Y’s for teens. Most of our sports also come with instruction, so students will learn while they play. And let’s not forget the pool and foosball in the club house – great ways to relax after a long afternoon of studying!
