Career Building

What do you REALLY want to be?

Our teens need the help and guidance of adults to discover how to make their dreams a reality in our wide open world. In a weekly career building class, our teens develop practical life skills that will help them pursue the careers they want after they finish their schooling. These skills include how to look for and apply for jobs, what careers are available, how much training they require, and how to prepare for interviews, using real interview questions and mock examples. Every step of the way, our dedicated staff and volunteer members help students think about and find future jobs.

Our Career Months are especially great ways for teens to discover new careers. During Career Month, we bring in speakers from across the professional spectrum to share their stories with students and answer any questions they might have. These exciting and exploratory Career Months will continue to be offered in the future – talk to J.D. Francis here for more information.
