Garden

Dirty hands, carefree spirits.

Our garden is a real symbol of our YMCA community, having moved with us from our old facility at 220 Golden Gate to our present location. And it is flourishing, producing new crops every week served in our delicious Friday Lunches in the community center and used by culinary classes in our youth programs. The garden includes fresh delicious herbs and vegetables, flourishing trees and greens and delicate flowers that keep on growing with the gracious help of garden volunteers.

Are you interested in agriculture or gardening yourself? We have one of the biggest enclosed outdoor public spaces in the Tenderloin, and our garden is what makes this space beautiful. We would be thrilled for you to join us there and help out with our efforts. If you would like to learn more or get involved, contact Kasey Asberry. Teaching demonstration for urban gardening. Vegetables, herbs, flowers.
