Yoga is a physical and spiritual practice many thousands of years old, and yet it is perfectly suited to the hustle and bustle of today. Based around a series of postures that stretch the body and get the heart moving, as well as calm, careful breathing that promotes concentration and awareness, yoga has the power to not only to improve your flexibility, but also to relax you and reduce stress.

We seek to support mind, body and spirit here at the Y, and our yoga classes are one of the best ways to promote all three. Hatha yoga is a gentle practice with emphasis on poses, flexibility and breathing, while Iyengar takes it a step further in striving for proper alignment and holding poses for longer periods. Both are highly suited for beginners.
