Descriptions of all our fantastic 2011 activities and workshops

A final itinerary and schedule will be provided upon check-in.

Activities with an asterisk (*) are held outdoors, so please dress in layers and wear appropriate footwear.
Activities with a dollar sign ($) require additional fees.

Archery Basics*
Learn how to shoot with a recurve bow. Your instructor will cover basic safety and shooting techniques, and then open the range for practicing.

Canoes*
Take a relaxing leisurely tour of our pond in one of our canoes or fun yaks, powered by you of course!

Climbing Tower*
Learn beginning climbing techniques as you climb and explore our 42-foot tower. You’ll wear a harness and helmet and be held by a belay system for a safe and fun climb.

Free Time
Select this option if you’d prefer not to schedule yourself for a class during one of the five workshop sessions.  The Diva Lounge and swimming pool are open throughout the weekend, and available for you to drop in when you are ready.

Herbal Remedies
Come learn how to create herbal remedies!  Empower yourself by using the wisdom of plants to make simple medicine including salves, syrups, and infusions.  You will learn how to harvest, properly store, and process various medicinal plants.  We will be playing in the garden so bring a hat, an open mind, and a personal plant story to share.

Lotions and Potions
Drop by the Diva Lounge, create a concoction from basic kitchen supplies and give yourself a relaxing and rejuvenating treat: smells so yummy you'll be tempted to eat it.

Manicures Make your way to the Diva Lounge to give yourself a manicure!  Ingredients for homemade hand scrubs are available to exfoliate before you paint your hands pretty...

Massage ($)
Treat yourself to a relaxing massage this weekend. It may be necessary to schedule your massage during a class session, so make sure you don’t request a time during your favorite class. The cost is $60 for a 1 hour massage, payable directly to the massage therapist.

Moonlight Zip Line*
Enjoy this camp standard under the cover of darkness. Watch your friends ride down with glow sticks lighting the way.

Juicy Journaling *
Re-connect with your deepest self and honor the things that bring you joy as we explore nature and write under the magnificent Redwoods.  You'll practice some simple, creative and meaningful ways to keep a "juicy" personal journal.

Pomponio Falls Hike*
Join your guide for a hike beginning at the trailhead near the Redwood Hall. This two-mile hike, which crosses Jones Gulch, winds through the redwood forest and ends at the falls, is a great way to clear your mind and get a little exercise!

Tai Chi - Qigong for Health

Tiger Mountain Tai Chi Gong and Six Healing Sounds Qigong are gentle yet powerful traditional Chinese exercise forms that nurture well-being and enhance health. Beginners, experienced T’ai Chi Ch’uan or Qigong practitioners, and people living with health challenges are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and flat-soled, flexible shoes.

The morning class will include a Qigong warm-up followed by instruction in Hu Ling (Tiger Mountain — named in honor of Grand Master Tung Hu Ling) Tai Chi Gong. The afternoon class will include a brief review of Hu Ling Tai Chi Gong, followed by instruction in the Six Healing Sounds Qigong.

Ropes Course*($)
Find out how balanced your life is! You’ll have a chance to explore the ropes and cables in our high ropes course while up to 40 feet in the air. End your session with an exciting 40-foot rappel to the ground. Dress warmly because this class takes place outdoors, and we won’t cancel unless we have a severe rain.

Scrapbooking
Create your own keepsake and memory album with just a little guidance and direction. Make sure to bring pictures!

Stepping Stones Make your own garden decor using glass and concrete.

Tie Dye
Bring a white t-shirt or sheet and make your own personalized creation.

Yoga
This marvelous practice is a gift to you from the ancient yogis of India. Your instructor will lead you in the Iyengar method of hatha yoga and focus’ on intentional body positions and movement. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat or towel for floor work.

Zip line
You’ll climb up to the platform, get harnessed in, jump off and soar down the zip line at an exhilarating speed!

Zumba
Turn up the heat and learn this sensational new fitness program inspired by Latin dance. Get ready to move your hips and find out how fun this exercise can be.

This is an anticipated menu, but we're adjusting it right up until your arrival. A final schedule will be provided upon check-in.

Erin Reichert - Yoga Instructor

I am a trained and certified 200-hour Yoga Alliance, Kripalu instructor.  I have successfully completed a yoga program of intensive training with a curriculum that included technique, teaching methodology and practicum for asana, pranayama, and meditation. I have received adequate instruction in anatomy and physiology as well as professional ethics.

Most recently I have completed a 40-hour prenatal teacher training with Jane Austin, through Yoga Tree of San francisco.  My prenatal yoga training allows me to teach pregnant women a safe and enjoyable class than can help them through their pregnancy.

I teach fun classes, building poses from the ground up and always including modifications.  It is my belief that yoga is accessible to all, and I design my classes so that a beginner can receive the same benefits as an advanced practioner.
