Mentor & Mentee

Be a Mentor, Change TWO Lives!

If you had a special person in your life who guided, nurtured, supported and taught you that you mattered, then you had a mentor! Now it's your turn!

Building Futures helps at-risk youth overcome personal, social and family challenges through a positive adult-child relationship.

To refer a young person for mentoring, volunteer to be a mentor, or learn more, please contact your local site coordinator, Shari Hicks.  She will be happy to answer your questions and will help get the young person connected.

Shari can be reached at 415.439.0292 or shicks@ymcasf.org

THIS NEW YEAR consider giving a young person in your life an alternative to electronic gadgets, trendy fashions, or the latest accessories. Give the gift of mentoring that will have lasting impact and is more valuable than anything you could purchase.

YMCA Building Futures Mentoring, a new national one-to-one mentoring program which strives to move youth from risk to resiliency is seeking to match 30 youth with mentors by January first of the new year.

We urgently need your help in the next 2 weeks to identify  30 youth ages 6 to 18 to participate in our program!  You can help by recommending this amazing new program to the family of a young person you know and/or spreading the word amongst youth serving agencies, schools, faith communities and community groups you are affiliated with.

Youth today experience overwhelming challenges and with the support of a caring, consistent adult mentor they can thrive and manifest their potential!
