The OMI Family Resource Center

The OMI Family Resource Center is a special place for families. The mission of the center is to strengthen families in the Oceanview, Merced, and Ingleside (OMI) community and to empower parents and caregivers by helping them help themselves. The center offers free services to the OMI community including:

Food Pantry: The Food Pantry is open every Tuesday from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, distributing food to the community. It also provides emergency food to community residents once a month, as needed to families enrolled in the OMI FRC.

Effective Parenting Workshops: In a one-on-one or group environment, parents can discuss family issues and concerns with staff. They also have the opportunity to meet with other caregivers and share ideas. Dinner and incentives are provided and certificates are awarded to those who successfully complete a series of workshops.

Women/Men Support Groups: These groups meet weekly in a confidential and safe place. Participants are encouraged to express their concerns and network with others in such of solutions. Topics to be covered are determined by the group.

OMI FRC Business Center: The Business Center provides clients with employment assistance, job searches, resume preparations, and the use of office equipment (i.e. fax machine, Xerox, phone for business calls). Skills Development Classes improve participants' interviewing skills, resume preparation, and job-opportunity research.

While Attending OMI FRC programs, clients can take advantage of transportation assistance, meals and incentives, and our Drop-In Child Watch Program. For more information, contact the OMI FRC directly at 415-406-1370 or click here to contact them via email.
