Private Swim Lessons

We offer Private Lessons for students who would like that extra one-on-one attention.  Semi-private Lessons for friends or siblings who swim at the same level and wish to get some personal help are also available.  If you need assistance finding another child for semi-private lessons, please contact the Private Swim Lesson Supervisor.  Private Lessons are offered at most recreation swim times depending on teacher availability.  If you are interested in registering for Private Lessons, please complete a request form at the Courtesy Counter.

Parents have two major roles in their children’s learning experience.

First, listen to and respect your child’s concerns and be aware of his/her behavior.  This may be a new experience for him/her and being patient will help your child learn.  Be sincere with praise for even small accomplishments.  Progress is made easier when children do not feel they are under pressure.

Second, be actively involved with your child’s learning.  You can be involved with your child’s swimming experience even if you are not at the pool every lesson.  Attend the Parent Orientation and learn about the goals and philosophy of our swim program.  Participate in Viewing Days, and ask your instructor about your child’s progress. Go swimming or practice with your child at home so he/she can show you what he/she has learned.

If there are any concerns about your child’s lessons, please feel free to ask the instructor and/or the Swim Lesson Coordinator.ES AND GUIDELINES
