Welcome to the Presidio YMCA Main Post Fitness Center. 2007 brought a series of changes to our 3,277 square foot, fully-equipped Fitness Center. In December, 2006 the Fitness Center received overall building renovations. Further improvements in 2007 included the arrival of new Elliptical machines, Arc Trainers and a full line of resistance equipment, Eagle/ VR3 from CYBEX!
Our final stage of improvements included technology upgrades to our Netpulse internet access, and the installation of Cable network entertainment on existing cardio machines and new Precor Treadmills (installed Dec. 2007).
The Fitness Center encompasses a variety of equipment and services with professionally
certified Wellness Coaches and Personal Trainers available to
help our members make physical activity a part of their lives.
We feature top-of-the-line cardiovascular and weight training
equipment including Life Fitness, Precor, Stairmaster, Free Motion,
Cybex, and Hammer Strength.

Our Stretch and Flexibility Room provides 800 square feet of quiet open space, tools and equipment to help improve your range of motion, core strength, and balance. Stability balls, medicine balls, foam rollers, exercise tubing, and core board are available for your use.
Wellness Coaches are available if you're new to our facility and need an introduction to our
equipment and policies, our certified Wellness Coaches are available for complimentary
orientations. Your Wellness Coach will work with you to recommend new equipment to help you stay on your journey to health and wellness, follow-up
appointments are encouraged.

Coaches are always available for questions, so please feel free
to ask.

Personal Training
The Presidio YMCA offers Personal Training for all fitness levels;
from beginners to seniors to competitive athletes. Our nationally
certified personal trainers will work with you to meet your fitness
lifestyle. Whether you want to focus on general fitness, weight management,
stress reduction, or want to train for a sports event, our Trainers
are experts in delivering results to our members.
The Presidio YMCA now offers you the option of working one-on-one with a Personal Trainer, or with a friend, spouse or partner in our semi-private training setting.
Personal Training Fees:

- 10 Sessions / $550.00
Semi-private Training Fees:
- 1 Session / $40.00 per person
- 5 Sessions / $195.00 per person

Her Pilates Instructor experience goes back to 1997, when she coached Junior Olympic divers for Head Coach/Olympian Kelly McCormick-Robertson. She has trained professional ballet principals, apprentices, and the general public in studio, private, and corporate-wellness settings.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
Yoga Foundations/ Level 1
All experience levels and abilities are encouraged to learn or review gentle hatha poses. Develop and explore strength, mobility, and balance through an intuitively guided approach designed to prepare you for a solo or group practice.
Yoga Foundations/ Building Poses
This workshop focuses on the anatomy of an asana, helping the yoga practitioner enjoy poses and sequences with a detailed understanding of one's personal strengths and limitations in each pose. Develop awareness, confidence and control through the knowledge of yoga asanas. For practitioners with a basic knowledge of yoga.
Yoga Level 2-4
For participants with a knowledge of basic hatha poses and a recently active yoga practice of 6+ months. Deepen your body intelligence in a personalized and safe environment with poses such as back bends, forward bends, and inversions.
Restorative Yoga
This workshop offers quiet, supported yoga poses to restore energy, provide healing, reduce stress, and soothe the mind. Appropriate for all fitness levels.
Pre-Yoga/Yoga for Pain
Tired of living with pain? Curious about yoga but apprehensive about your level or ability? Learn how to access the subtly miraculous healing powers of yoga. This workshop is designed for the inactive , the aging-bodied, the damaged, the brand new yoga participant or all the above! Return to balance and ability in every-day life. |

SEMI PRIVATE - TRIOS
Enjoy three-to-one training with a
Pilates personal trainer on the Reformer, Cadillac or other apparatus. Pre-requisites: prior Pilates training documented through references or audition. Sessions are 55 minutes.
WORKSHOPS
Enjoy six-to-one training on apparatus (mat, ball, band, roller, ring). Learn or review the basics of movement through exercises in mobility, release, balance, injury prevention, and spinal hygiene. Expand your core education with this introduction to Pilates.*

Pilates Foundations/Level 1
All experience levels and abilities are encouraged to learn or review a 45 minute sequence of core strengthening and lengthening exercises. Enjoy an interactive remaining 30 minutes designed to focus on one of six areas of the body per week: neck and shoulders, spinal mobility/stability, hips and legs, arms and mid back, muscular release, individualized overview.

Enjoy a 6:1 training on apparatus (mat, ball, band, roller or ring) These sessions are designed for participants with a basic knowledge of Pilates. Expand your core education with Pilates. Pre-approval required.
