Specialty Camps
Come join our experienced staff for some fun this summer. Campers will take part in the specialized activity for a portion of the day and also participate in traditional camp activities, such as swimming, group games, and arts and crafts. We also incorporate health and wellness components into our YMCA curriculum.
Minimum # of 16 participants needed to operate these camps.

Live life on the wild side by learning about wildlife from worms to sea lions. Trips to the Oakland Zoo, class with live animals, and a trip to the local pet store complete this all animals week.

Under the Sea

Dive into a week of fun and learn what lives under the sea and on the ocean floor. The week will include trips to an aquarium and wildlife center, and a show by the Marine Mammal Center Bus.

Glitter & Razz Summer Theater Camps are highly hands-on, seriously social, and fabulously fun theater workshops for K-6th graders. During the week, Glitter & Razz Productions will use a variety of art forms to lead campers in the adventure of creating
their own original plays. The week will culminate in a celebration that brings kids together with family and friends in an interactive performance.

Lego Engineering Camp

Create, Play, and Learn. Build a town, city, or star base with houses, buildings, pyramids, bridges, tunnels, towers, and more. Magic & Mystery Camp

Get ready for a week of magic! Through daily instruction, campers will discover how to make an object appear or disappear, “how to read a mind” and much more by a qualified magician. Cheer Camp

Give me a Y, give me an M, give me a C and give me an A!!! What’s that spell Y-M-C-A. In this high energy camp, campers will learn cheers, chants, dances and squad teamwork. Show your spirit as you cheer your way into a week of fun and excitement, while meeting new friends along the way. At the end of the week, campers will wow family and friends with a performance.

A Bug’s Life

If you like creepy crawlers, this is the camp for you! This is a weeklong camp devoted to exploring the world of insects with a visit from the Insect Discovery Lab and visits to Happy Hollow and much more!

Cooking Camp

Send your kids to this yummy camp. Chef EJ will teach our Junior Chef’s (2 hours of instruction per day) about kitchen and cooking safety, and nutrition while preparing culturally diverse menus using all fresh ingredients making everything from scratch. No need to pack your Junior Chef a lunch because they will enjoy the meal they prepared for lunch. This camp will also include arts and crafts, group games, swimming and fieldtrips.

Sports Camps
Come join our experienced sports staff for some fun this summer. Each week campers will work on sport fundamentals, skill building, team building and gamesmanship. In addition, camps will include swimming and crafts projects around the week’s theme.
Multi Sports Camp

Come learn the basics of traditional sports with fun and enthusiastic YMCA sports camp leaders. Campers will learn how to play basketball, soccer, t-ball and much more. This camp will also include arts and crafts, group games, swimming and field trips.

Basketball Shooting Camp
Grades 3-8 July 14 - 18
Our camp teaches the camper to perfect their shot through repetitive drills and games that lock the necessary shooting technique into the camper’s muscle memory. This is accomplished by breaking the shot down into several stages, and then making sure the shooter fully understands and learns each step. This week will also include a variety of camp activities and recreational swimming.

Baseball Camp

Take me out to the ball game! Come play America’s past time at this new YMCA Camp. Campers will learn proper techniques of hitting, fielding, throwing and catching. We will also attend an A’s game. Let’s play ball!

Tennis Camp
Grades 3 - 8 July 21 - 25
Tennis camp focuses on the FUNdamentals of tennis: volleying, serving, keeping score, rules and tennis etiquette. On Monday, campers will attend the Bank of the West Tennis Classic at Taube Family Tennis Stadium, Stanford University. Tuesday – Friday campers will take field trips to Millbrae where they will receive 2 hours of tennis instruction per day. This camp will also include arts and crafts, group games, swimming and fieldtrips. Campers will need to wear appropriate shoes and provide their own tennis racquet and 3 balls.

Challenger Sports British Soccer Camp
Grades 3-8 August 4 - 8
Challenger Sports’ British Soccer Camp is the most popular soccer camp in the country. Sign your child up for age specific camp programs, each taught by one of Challenger’s elite British coaches. Skill levels and confidence will blossom following a week of Individual footwork drills, fundamental technical practices and coached competitive play — all woven around a central theme of respect, responsibility, Integrity, sportsmanship and leadership and delivered with a captivating British twist.

Who are our Camp Staff?
Many of our staff are young adults on summer break who are hired based on experience working with children and commitment to working with campers from varied backgrounds. Your child’s safety is our first priority. Staff are fingerprinted and screened according to YMCA policy. In addition, they meet ACA requirements, attend 40 hours of training with certification in first aid, CPR and water safety to ensure your child has a quality experience.

When do we pay for camp?
A non-refundable deposit of $50 per week is required at the time of registration. The remaining balance will be billed to you, and will be due two weeks prior to the week start date. If payment is not made in full 2-weeks prior to each session, your child will be automatically dropped from that session without a refund. Accepted forms of payment are cash, check, MasterCard or Visa.
Do you give refunds?
Deposits are non-transferrable and non-refundable. A doctor’s note is necessary for withdrawal from a camp week. A 100% refund (minus deposit) will be given if a withdrawal occurs a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the camp week.
What do I bring to camp?
Campers must bring a healthy bag lunch (they have an action-packed day, so please pack plenty!), water to drink, sunscreen, swimsuit, towel (on swim days) and a backpack to put it all in. Come dressed for fun!!! Note: Closed toe shoes only. Snacks are provided by each camp.
